My family is visiting Richmond, Virginia to see my daughter and new grandchild. While here, my wife and I are trying to keep up some fitness routine and were going to include an hour walk each day. Unfortunately, the area she lives is not very walking friendly. My daughter recommended a park she goes to sometimes about 20 minutes away. The park is called Three Lakes Recreation Area. It has a number of nature trails and is a wonderful place to take a long walk. The first morning we did our walk I recognized some the potential of this place as a photography location. I was doing some scouting as we made our way around the area. I decided to come out here to get some sunset shots.
I came out with my oldest daughter and her dog, who drove out from California to hang out with us during this trip. I setup in a couple places, but we were feeling pushed to leave. Apparently the park is only open from dawn to dusk and the park officials were sounding sirens and driving around trying to get people out of the park. This was one of my last shots of the day before we left to go to our car. I'll be coming back here again, but wil probably park outside the park and walk in so I won't feel pressured to leave before the colors of the sunset are complete.
