A Very Productive Morning

Last Saturday, I decided to head out early to get in a sunrise shoot at Hamahiga Island.  I usually don't get too many keepers from these type of shoots because the exceptional lighting is so fleeting, you usually only get one look from one position before it is all gone.  Fortunately the light had several different stages on this morning and I made a concerted effort to not stick to one area taking a lot of photos of the same thing.  I changed lenses, moved locations and I was fortunate that good light stuck around for awhile.  You can see the captions for some more about each of the following photos.

Rise and Shine

Decided to get up and catch the sunrise this morning. Had some wonderful and changing light.

A Difference of 10 Minutes The previous photo from a sunrise shoot I made yesterday morning. Today's photo was from the same timeframe but 10 minutes earlier. As you can see, it has a completely different light. The sun in this photo was still behind the low clouds and put out a purple/pastel like colors vs. the bright orange in the later photo. In addition to the light, I used my 60mm Macro lens (120mm equivalent) to get a different look from my normal super wide-angle shots.

The Last Bit of Sunrise  As I was leaving the beach, packing up my gear, I took one last look at the fading sunrise and was fortunate to catch the sun rays coming through the clouds out onto the distant island to cap off a wonderful morning sunrise.

A Little Visitor  After the good light of the sunrise was over I headed to a flower patch for some macro photography.  Finally got around to doing some real macro photography with my 60mm macro lens. The second photo shows the setup
